Council of Europe reveals six coproductions funded by pilot programme for series

The Council of Europe’s Pilot Programme for Series Co-Productions has revealed the projects selected for its third round under the programme. 

The programme is administered by the Council of Europe, home of Eurimages, with funding provided by donors through the organisation’s voluntary contributions system.

The projects are:

• Amazing Adventures of Lost Socks (animated series) - €500,000 created by Luis da Matta Almaida and Paweł Wendorff, from Anima-pol (PL), Sparkle Animation (PT)
• Brothers (drama series)  - €250,000 created by Simon Farmakas, from Blonde Audiovisual Productions (GR), Deal Productions (LU), Hager Moss Film (DE)
• Henki (drama series) - €500,000 created by Jan Trygve Røyneland, from Klynge (NO), Scanbox (DK), Staragara (SI)
• How To Win A Political Debate (docuseries) - €500,000 created by Mila Turajlic, from Poppy Pictures (RS), Survivance (FR), HBO Europe (CZ)
• Immigration Union (docuseries)  - €250,000 created by Tomas Kaan, from Scenery (NL), Clin d'OEil (BE)
• In Vitro (drama series) - €500,000 created by Marc Crehuet, from Rodar y Rodar (ES), Noodles Production (FR), Moire Films Producciones Audiovisuales (ES)

Of the six series co-productions projects supported during the session, women represent 14% of creators, 50% of writers and 63% of directors. 11 national, regional, or minority languages are used.      

The programme supports high-quality series made as international co-productions and aims to empower independent producers and foster new relationships.

Currently supported by 22 donor institutions from 21 member States of the Council of Europe, there are plans to continue the programme beyond the initial three-year phase, through 2027.
