Production on Cesc Gay's 53 Domingos (English language: 53 Sundays) for Netflix has wrapped at their studio in hub Tres Cantos in Spain.

The writer-director, whose credits include Sentimental and Truman adapts his own stage play of the same name.

The film stars Carmen Machi (A Widow’s Game, Celeste), Javier Cámara (Rapa, Stories Not to Be Told), Javier Gutiérrez (The Asunta Case, Prison 77) and Alexandra Jiménez (Menudas piezas, The Innocent).

Production, which lasted a total of 30 days, took place mainly at the Netflix Production Center in Tres Cantos, as well as in several central locations across Madrid.

The story follows three siblings who meet to discuss what to do with their 86-year-old father, who has begun to show strange behaviour. As they debate whether they will put him in a nursing home or will move him in with one of them, the polite family meeting turns into a comedically out of control fight.

The film is produced by Barcelona-based Imposible Films. Marta Esteban and Laia Bosch are executive producers.
