'Superman', 'SAS: Rogue Heroes' locations among EUFCN award nominees

The winners of the EUFCN Location Award 2025 and of the EUFCN Audience Location Award 2025 will be revealed during the EFM/Berlinale 2026 in February.

Locations used in BBC’s SAS: Rogue Heroes, Warner Bros’ Superman and TNT’s fantasy series The Librarians are among the longlist nominees for the annual European Film Commissions Network’s Location Awards.

The recently announced jury members are Alessandro Bonino, production supervisor at Wildside; Andrea Keener, location manager; Gail McQuillan, Head of TV production at Blueprint Pictures; Sue Quinn, supervising location manager; and Caroline von Kühn, executive Director of Oxbelly.

The jury will evaluate all submissions by the EUFCN members, focusing on the significant role of each location in the story and its impact on the audiovisual work.

The shortlist of the five finalists will be revealed on December 9, 2025, and the winners of the EUFCN Location Award 2025 and of the EUFCN Audience Location Award 2025 will be revealed during the EFM/Berlinale 2026 in February.

Last year, the island of Frøya (Midgard Film Commission, Norway) was awarded the EUFCN Location Award 2024, selected by the Location Awards Jury. Austria’s Schönbrunn Palace (Vienna Film Commission) won the EUFCN Audience Location Award 2024, chosen by the public through online voting.

EUFCN is a non-profit Association that supports and promotes the European film industry and culture. It currently represents over 100 film commissions in 33 countries in Europe.
