Studiocanal's ‘The Custom Of The Country' begins filming in Portugal

Production is underway in Portugal on Josie Rourke’s The Custom Of The Country starring Sydney Sweeney and Leo Woodall.

The film is being produced by Studiocanal, Charles Finch’s Rabbit’s Foot Films, Sweeney’s LD Entertainment and Alison Owen’s Monumental Pictures.

Adapted from the Edith Wharton novel of the same name, the film follows an ambitious woman who arrives in New York from the Midwest, looking to climb the social ladder.

Additional cast includes Josh Finan, Louis Garrell, Martha Plimpton, Matthew Goode, Hugh Dancy, Dominic West, James McArdle, Rose Leslie, and  Louisa Harland.

Ruben Impens will serve as director of photography while Lauren Reyhani is costume designer and Laura Ellis Cricks is production designer.

Studiocanal is fully financing The Custom Of The Country and will distribute the title in all of its territories.
