Leo Woodall and Clémence Poésy have signed to star in Peter Hoar’s feature debut, A Waiter In Paris, for which Cornerstone Films has boarded international sales. WME Independent is co-repping the US.
A Waiter In Paris is adapted by Ben Hopkins from the memoir of the same name by Edward Chisholm, about a depressed and over-educated man, about to turn 30, who arrives in Paris. He resolves to prove himself by joining the sharp-suited brotherhood of Parisian waiters but behind the glittering new hedonistic life he falls into lies a world of exploitation and precarity.
It will shoot in Paris, with FullDawa Films providing production services.
The film is former UK film critic Jason Solomons’ first feature as a producer, through his Movie Love Productions, alongside UK-based Phin Glynn, with backing from BBC Film.
