The Seven in production on Netflix Japan's live-action drama 'Quiztopia'

The Seven production studio has begun production on the cult favourite manga 'Kokumin Kuizu' for Netflix.

The Seven's chief content officer Akira Morii, who produced the hit Netflix series Alice in Borderland and Yu Yu Hakusho, will serve as the series producer. 

Quiztopia is set in an alternate Japan and revolves around a government-sanctioned quiz show with supreme authority, as established by the Japanese Constitution that grants winners wishes while losers face severe consequences, such as fines, forced labour or conscription.

This deadly game tests participants’ resolve to pursue their deepest desires.

The Naked Doctor's Takayuki Yamada stars, with The 13 Lords Of The Shogun director Teruyuki Yoshida helming the series. He co-writes the script with Magy, based on the manga originally written by Reiichi Sugimoto and illustrated by Shinkichi Kato.

Shinichi Takahashi executive produces for Netflix, alongside Morii and Tomoki Takase for The Seven, and Hirotake Sasaki for LesPros entertainment.

The Seven also provides production services; VFX production by Tomofumi Akahane and post-production supervision by Norimasa Ishida.

Established in January 2022 with investment by TBS Holdings, The Seven plans, develops and produces high-end global content. Alongside its strategic partnership with Netflix, The Seven has a dedicated sound stage.
