Production will begin this month in Queensland, Australia on Spa Weekend, the new destination comedy starring Isla Fisher, Leslie Mann, Michelle Buteau and Anna Faris.
The Gold Coast is doubling for Los Angeles in the latest film from Bad Moms’ writer-directors Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, produced by Black Bear and Suzanne Todd Productions with production services from Australia’s Brouhaha Entertainment.
Spa Weekend follows three best friends whose luxury weekend escape descends into hilarious chaos when their trainwreck friend turns up unexpectedly.
According to a statement by Minister for the Arts John-Paul Langbroek, the production will generate almost 200 employment opportunities and inject an estimated $12 million into the state’s economy.
Spa Weekend is supported by Screen Queensland's Production Attraction Strategy, the Gold Coast City Council’s Screen Attraction Program and the Australian Government's Location Offset.
