Disney and FX's Shōgun is scheduled to begin production of series two in Vancouver, Canada, in January 2026.

Series one was primarily filmed in Ucluelet and Port Moody, both which are near Vancouver. Producers originally intended to film in Japan, where the story is set, but delays, including the Covid-19 pandemic, prompted a relocation to Canada.

The hit historical drama, which set a record at the 2024 Emmys with 18 wins, centres around two men from different worlds whose fates are inextricably entwined.

Hiroyuki Sanada and Cosmo Jarvis will reprise their roles as Lord Yoshii Toranaga and John Blackthorne.

Sanada, who was a producer on series one, will now serve as executive producer, and Jarvis as co-executive producer. Justin Marks and Rachel Kondo will also return as executive producers alongside Michaela Clavell, Edward L. McDonnell and Michael De Luca. FX Productions will continue as the producing studio.
