Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Tomb Raider series has added Sigourney Weaver and Jason Isaacs to the cast as the Prime Video show readies UK shoot.
The series, adapted from the popular video game, will be based at Shepperton Studios in Surrey with international location shooting. Production begins later this month.
As previously announced, Sophie Turner stars as Lara Croft, a world-famous archaeologist and adventurer. Additional cast includes Celia Imrie, Bill Paterson and Martin Bobb-Semple.
Waller-Bridge serves as creator, writer, executive producer and co-showrunner alongside Chad Hodge as co-showrunner. Tomb Raider is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Wells Street Films, Story Kitchen and Crystal Dynamics.
There have been two previous adaptations of Tomb Raider – two films for Paramount in 2001 and 2003 starring Angelina Jolie; and a 2018 Warner Bros feature starring Alicia Vikander.
