Sky plans expansion for Livingston campus in Scotland

Sky has submitted plans to expand its Scottish office in Livingston into a major state-of-the-art campus.

The development would create 2,000 jobs – housing around 3,000 staff – with an additional 15 acres of space for the media company’s Scottish headquarters.

If approved it will replace four existing buildings at Kirkton Campus and leased space on the Alba Campus and consolidate its customer service operations, Sky Academy and its Talent Hub all on one site.

The new development will include event spaces, a café and restaurant, landscaped green areas, workspaces and an upgraded gym.

Sky Group chief executive Dana Strong said: “Livingston has been home to Sky’s leading customer service operation for more than three decades, and this investment demonstrates our long-term commitment to the region and confidence in Scotland’s pivotal role in the UK economy.

“The campus development will support thousands of jobs and create opportunities for local businesses. Designed with sustainability in mind, it will set a benchmark for innovation and regional growth.”

The plans are set to be decided this summer, and if successful could see occupation of the new campus by Summer 2029.

The plans come four months after Sky was granted planning approval for the expansion of Sky Studios Elstree, allowing a further ten stages.
