Production on Netflix's 'Vladimir' starring Rachel Weisz underway in Canada

Filming began on July 2 on the series, based on the novel of the same name. Leo Woodall, John Slattery also star.

Netflix's Vladimir, starring Rachel Weisz and Leo Woodall, has begun production in Toronto, Canada and will continue through the autumn according to Ontario Creates website.

The eight part series is based on the novel of the same name by Julia May Jonas and also stars John Slattery, Jessica Henwick, and Ellen Robertson.

Kayli Carter, Miriam Silverman, Mallori Johnson, Matt Walsh, and Louise Lambert will play recurring roles. Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini whose credits include Fleishman Is in Trouble and American Splendor, will direct three episodes.

The story follows a professor whose life life unravels when her husband's secrets come to light, and she becomes obsessed with her new colleague. The book is set in upstate New York, but whether Canada will double for the US state has yet to be confirmed.

Springer Berman, Pulcini, and Weisz will executive produce the series. Jonas will write and will executive produce alongside Sharon Horgan, Stacy Greenberg, and Kira Carstensen for Merman, Jason Winer and Jon Radler for Small Dog Picture Company.
