BBC confirms 'Rebus' series two

BBC has confirmed Rebus will return for a second series. The show is based on the books by Ian Rankin and filmed in and around Edinburgh and Glasgow, Scotland.

Series two will continue to explore Rebus’s complex world as he navigates Scottish crime and personal conflict.

Richard Rankin reprises the role of Detective Sergeant John Rebus in the six part series.

Rebus series two will be produced by Eleventh Hour Films for BBC iPlayer, BBC Scotland and BBC One.

It is written by Gregory Burke and is adapted from the best-selling novels by Ian Rankin.

Paula Cuddy, Jill Green, Eve Gutierrez, Niall MacCormick, Gregory Burke and Ian Rankin are the executive producers for Eleventh Hour Films, Gavin Smith for BBC Scotland and Stephanie Fyfe for the BBC.

Niall MacCormick will be returning to direct all six episodes and Angela Murray will return to produce.
