MGM+ have revealed the first look at its Robin Hood series starring Sean Bean and Connie Nielsen, which filmed in Serbia

Bean plays the Sheriff of Nottingham and Nielsen plays as Eleanor of Aquitaine; NCIS Sydney's Jack Patten stars as Robin Hood and Hollyoaks' Lauren McQueen as Marian.

They are joined by Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes's Lydia Peckham, The Trap's Steven Waddington, Foundation's Marcus Fraser, Shadow And Bone's Angus Castle-Doughty, and Henry Rowley.

The series follows from the Norman invasion of England with Rob – a Saxon forester’s son – and Marian, the daughter of a Norman lord – falling in love and working together to fight for justice and freedom. As Rob rises as the leader of a band of rebel outlaws, Marian infiltrates the power at court, as both work together to thwart royal corruption and bring peace to the land.

The series comes from Lionsgate Television with showrunner John Glenn and producer-director Jonathan English at the helm. Glenn and English also serve as writers and executive producers, alongside Todd Lieberman of Hidden Pictures. Carly Kleinbart and Nicole Bryant will oversee the series for Hidden Pictures.

In addition to premiering later in 2025 on MGM+ in the U.S., Robin Hood will be available to MGM+ viewers in the U.K., Italy, Germany, Spain, Latin America, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
