'Dune: Part Three' production to return to Abu Dhabi's Liwa desert

Denis Villeneuve's previous instalments all filmed in the UAE's famed desert with Abu Dhabi Film Commission providing production support.

Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part Three will return to film in Abu Dhabi's Liwa desert, Legendary Entertainment confirmed today (August 26). 

Filming in the UAE desert city will begin later this year with Creative Media Authority Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Film Commission providing essential logistical support, and Image Nation serving as production partner. 

The film will benefit from the cashback rebate offered by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission, a 35% rebate.

Dune: Part Three began filming in Hungary at the beginning of July. 

Recent productions to film in Abu Dhabi include Apple and Warner Bros' F1 The Movie, Paramount's Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning, and Disney's Star Wars: The Force Awakens
