SS Rajamouli's hotly anticipated blockbuster 'SSMB29' has wrapped filming in Kenya before heading to India for the remaining two-month production.

The film stars Priyanka Chopra, Mahesh Babu, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, and follows an archaeologist with traits of Lord Hanuman, who sets out for a globe trotting adventure in the lush jungles of both Amazon and parts of Africa.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Musalia W Mudavadi, prime cabinet secretary and cabinet secretary for foreign and diaspora affairs of the Republic of Kenya, revealed that the production filmed in locations including the Masai Mara plains, lakeside Naivasha, Samburu national reserve, and Amboseli national park.

"His team of 120 crew members chose Kenya after an extensive scouting tour across East Africa, settling on our nation as the primary filming destination where nearly 95% of the African scenes are being shot," he said.

Rajamouli is the highest grossing Indian director of all time. The song "Naatu Naatu" from his film RRR won the Oscar for best original song at the 95th Academy Awards in 2023, making it the first and only Indian song to win at the Oscars.
